Make your mark in Enterprise Risk Management
The Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) team partners with leaders from across the AIG organization to inform strategic decision-making and to facilitate informed risk-taking that drives profitable growth. ERM ensures we have the right tools, processes and systems in place to identify, measure and manage our risks. As an ERM colleague, you can enhance your commercial acumen by helping to shape and support our approach to risk.
How you will create an impact:
This is a fantastic role for someone with a couple of years of risk experience, who wants to broaden their risk skills and competence within a market leading commercial insurer. This is a great opportunity to build your product and operational knowledge, whilst gaining exposure to interesting and evolving areas of risk and the senior leaders who manage them.
Some of the key responsibilities include:
- Support the ERM Business Partner in delivering the UK Operational Risk Framework, including AIG UK’s Risk Event Capture and Analysis Programme.
- Help to coordinate inputs from subject matter experts across the AIG business to deliver ERM objectives, including the annual Risk Review of the Business Plan, ORSA, UK Climate Risk Plan, Emerging Risks Reporting, and Stress Testing.
- Support the effective operation of the AIG UK risk governance process through assisting with the production of Executive and Board Risk Committee packs and minute taking.
- Prepare draft reports, presentations, and contributions for key ERM reports.
- Support UK ERM’s engagement with UK Heads of Underwriting and Heads of Business Functions, ensuring substantive decisions and actions from meetings are documented and circulated to attendees in a timely manner.
- Support the delivery of AIG UK’s Stress and Scenario Testing, including Solvency & Capital Stress Testing, Target Capital Stress Testing, Reverse Stress Testing and ad-hoc stress tests as required for internal and external purposes.
- Support the Operational Risk scenario calibration process, including preparation for and attendance at scenario workshops
- Support the update of AIG UK’s Risk Appetite framework and update of AIG UK’s Risk Register
- Support the wider deliverables of the ERM team e.g., assisting with the Internal Model Validation processes, assisting with regulator required reports and responses.
What you’ll need to succeed
- Experience in a risk role within financial services or another regulated industry
- Experience of preparing summaries of in-depth reports and quantitative measures
- Experience of using risk-assessment tools including MI, KRIs and Risk Reviews
- Experience of committee administration, including preparing draft reports and minute taking
- An inquisitive mind-set and a strong desire to learn
