Job Description

AIFOD, the AI Forum for Developing Countries, is committed to advancing inclusive AI development across emerging economies. Our forum serves as a collaborative platform for leaders from governments, academia, industry, and civil society, addressing unique challenges and opportunities in developing regions.

As our Partnership, Sponsorship & Co-Organizer Manager, you will play a critical role in expanding AIFOD’s global network by securing high-impact partnerships, sponsorships, and co-organizers that align with our mission. This position is ideal for a candidate experienced in engaging international organizations and navigating diverse cultural and organizational contexts.

Job Overview

We are seeking a globally-minded, results-driven Partnership, Sponsorship & Co-Organizer Manager to lead AIFOD’s strategic relationships with international organizations, sponsors, partners, and co-organizers. In this role, you will be responsible for identifying and negotiating with potential partners and sponsors, building relationships with international stakeholders, and collaborating with co-organizers to ensure successful events. This position requires strong cross-cultural communication skills, expertise in relationship management, and a strategic approach to partnership-building with a global perspective.

• Prospecting and Identification:
Research and identify potential sponsors, partners, and co-organizers, with a focus on international organizations and entities that align with AIFOD’s mission and global impact goals.Build a pipeline of leads from diverse regions, industry networks, and global forums.

• Outreach and Relationship Building with International Stakeholders:
Conduct outreach to international organizations and potential partners via email, phone, and virtual meetings, effectively conveying AIFOD’s mission and value proposition.
Establish connections with key international stakeholders, maintaining cultural sensitivity and adaptability in communications.

• Negotiation and Proposal Development:
Develop and propose sponsorship packages, partnership agreements, and co-organizer roles that meet AIFOD’s strategic objectives and cater to the unique goals of international partners.Lead negotiations with a focus on building long-term, mutually beneficial relationships.

• Co-Organizer Coordination and Collaboration: Identify and engage potential co-organizers, especially those with an international reach or influence.
Work collaboratively to define shared goals, responsibilities, and deliverables, ensuring alignment and smooth execution of AIFOD’s global events.

• Ongoing Relationship Management: Nurture and maintain strong, long-term relationships with sponsors, partners, and co-organizers from around the world. Serve as the primary point of contact, ensuring that international partners feel engaged, valued, and aligned with AIFOD’s mission.

• Contract and Compliance Oversight: Oversee the drafting, reviewing, and managing of sponsorship and partnership agreements, ensuring all terms are clearly documented and adhere to both local and international standards.

• Collaboration with Internal Teams for Global Events: Coordinate with marketing, events, and content teams to ensure seamless execution of partnership obligations. Work closely with co-organizers to align event timelines, promotional activities, and international outreach efforts.

• Performance Tracking and Analysis: Track sponsorship, partnership, and co-organizer performance metrics, with a focus on engagement and ROI from international partners. Use insights to refine strategies for future global partnerships.

Job Requirement

We’re looking for an experienced relationship-builder with a global perspective and a strong track record of working with international organizations. The ideal candidate will have exceptional communication and negotiation skills, particularly within a cross-cultural context.

Key qualifications include:

• Proven Experience in International Partnerships and Sponsorship Development:

o Minimum 3 years of experience in partnership development, sponsorship sales, or business development, ideally with international organizations or multinational events.

o Demonstrated success in securing and managing partnerships and sponsorships from international organizations, corporate entities, or NGOs.

o Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage and build trust with diverse, international stakeholders.

o Confidence in conducting outreach to global organizations, including cold calling and initiating partnerships with cultural sensitivity.

• Expert Negotiation and Deal-Making Abilities:

o Proven ability to develop, present, and negotiate proposals that cater to the goals of both AIFOD and its international partners.

o Skilled at structuring and finalizing agreements with sponsors, partners, and co-organizers across various regulatory and cultural frameworks.

o A relationship-focused approach to managing and strengthening partnerships, sponsorships, and co-organizer collaborations with international stakeholders.

o Ability to engage effectively with stakeholders from various sectors and regions, including corporate sponsors, international NGOs, and governmental bodies.

• Organizational and Project Management Skills:

o Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple international relationships, track deadlines, and coordinate with internal teams.

o Proficiency in CRM software for tracking contacts, managing progress, and analyzing international partnership performance.

• Self-Motivated and Goal-Oriented:

o Proactive, resilient, and goal-driven attitude with the ability to meet and exceed partnership and sponsorship targets.

o Persistent in pursuing new international leads and overcoming challenges in a global context.

• Knowledge of AI or Technology Sector (Preferred):
