About the Role
AidEx and Development2030 are seeking an experienced and commercially minded Marketing Manager to lead the strategic marketing and audience growth for 4 internationally recognised events within the humanitarian and development sector. This is an exciting opportunity for a creative and driven marketeer who is passionate about global development, humanitarian action, sustainability, and international affairs. Working as part of a small, collaborative team, you will play a key role in shaping and delivering impactful marketing campaigns that strengthen our global brand presence, increase audience engagement, and drive international attendance across our events portfolio. The successful candidate will be both strategic and hands‑on, but equally comfortable developing marketing plans, managing partnerships, creating content, analysing campaign performance, and building relationships across the aid and development ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and manage integrated marketing campaigns across digital and offline channels to achieve visitor, delegate, exhibitor and brand objectives
- Plan and execute marketing activity within agreed timelines and budgets
- Monitor campaign performance and optimise activity based on data and results
- Produce post‑event reporting, analytics, and performance insights
Audience Growth & Partnerships
- Build and maintain relationships with affiliate partners, media partners, associations, NGOs, UN agencies, and private sector stakeholders
- Identify and develop new partnership opportunities to expand audience reach and brand visibility
- Work closely with key organisations including the UN, Red Cross movement, EU institutions, NGOs and commercial partners
Digital Marketing & Brand Development
- Manage and grow the AidEx and Development2030 digital presence across websites, email marketing, social media, and online platforms
- Oversee website content updates and registration platform coordination
- Drive audience engagement and community growth through targeted digital campaigns
- Support the continued development and positioning of both brands internationally
Collaboration & Operational Support
- Collaborate closely with the Managing Director and wider team to align marketing initiatives with business objectives
- Help establish scalable and process‑driven approaches to outreach, communications, and relationship management
- Manage marketing budgets effectively and ensure strong return on investment
- Manage the production, branding, and quality control of printed marketing materials
- Develop the selection of brand imagery and visual assets to ensure consistency with company guidelines and event objectives
Skills & Experience
- We are looking for a proactive and enthusiastic marketing professional with strong communication skills and a genuine interest in the humanitarian and development sector.
- Minimum 4 years’ experience in a marketing role
- Degree‑level education or equivalent professional experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Strong organisational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities independently
- Confident in building relationships and partnerships with external stakeholders
- Creative, resourceful, and highly motivated with a collaborative attitude
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work autonomously in a small team environment
- Understanding of current affairs and global humanitarian/development challenges
- Experience growing digital audiences and social media engagement
- Experience working with events, conferences or exhibitions
- Experience working in the humanitarian, development and NGO sectors
