Job Description & Specification

Aid Box Community (ABC) is a Bristol charity that provides hope, love and a sense of belonging to people seeking asylum in Bristol. The charity was started 10 years ago on the Refugee camps in France by a local mum and has grown and evolved to support over 5000 people a year through our Free Shop and Welcome Hub, Activity Groups and Trips and Connections Befriending program. We have 336 volunteers and a fantastic, small team and we are looking for a Grants and Trusts Fundraiser to join our dedicated team. The job is for 2 or 3 days a week, based at the new ABC Hub, St Andrews area, Bristol.

You will work closely with the Founder and Director of Strategy, the Communications and Local Fundraiser and also the ABC Finance officer. The Grants and Trust fundraiser will be responsible for building on a strong foundation of support within the grant-giving community, you will cultivate and develop strong relationships with grant givers in order to grow our income to support our organisational aims. We are a small team, and you may be asked to do something outside of your Job Description and help support other members of the Aid Box team.

From the get-go, your role will be to gain a deep understanding of the charities objectives, vision and mission, the people we work with, the other agencies in the sector staff team and activities and services we provide, the funding opportunities available to ABC.

This role is suited to someone target-driven, with excellent writing skills, great attention to detail, highly organised and with a passion for the cause.

Location: St Bartholmew’s Parish Hall, Sommerville Road, Bristol, BS6 5BX

Duration of work: 15 hours per week – to be worked over 2 or 3 days Tuesday-Thursday (exact work pattern negotiable).

Responsibilities

  • Support the Grants and Trusts fundraising activity by building on a foundation of support within the grant-giving community.
  • Cultivate and develop strong relationships with grant givers to grow income to support organisational aims.
  • Collaborate with the Founder and Director of Strategy, the Communications and Local Fundraiser, and the ABC Finance Officer.
  • Be prepared to assist other members of the Aid Box team as needed.
