As an Associate Forward-Deployed AI Engineer at AiCore, you’ll work directly with organisations to help employees redesign real work using AI. You’ll sit at the intersection of AI, workflows, technology and people: understanding business problems, identifying where AI can create value, building practical AI-enabled workflows, and helping people become genuinely capable with AI.

This is an early-career role for someone who wants to develop quickly, work on meaningful problems and take on increasing responsibility as their capability grows.

The Opportunity

We want to build some of the best Forward-Deployed AI Engineers in the market. You’ll develop deep capability across AI engineering, leading AI platforms, workflow design, agents, experimentation, evaluation, governance and client delivery. You’ll work on real problems with real organisations, collaborating with experienced colleagues while progressively taking ownership of more complex work. We invest heavily in your development, but this isn’t a training programme before the real job starts. You’ll be expected to contribute, build and learn from day one. The aim is simple: your capability and the level of problems you can own should increase rapidly while you’re at AiCore.

Who This Is For

You’ll likely thrive here if you:

  • Believe AI is going to fundamentally reshape knowledge work and want to be at the forefront of that shift.
  • Are intensely curious and actively experimenting with AI yourself.
  • Love building things, solving difficult problems and understanding how systems work.
  • Want to become excellent across both technology and business.
  • Communicate well and enjoy working directly with people.
  • Want meaningful responsibility early in your career.
  • Thrive in high-performance environments with direct feedback and real accountability.
  • Have high standards for yourself and care deeply about the quality of your work.

What You’ll Do

  • Work directly with employees and client teams to understand how their work actually gets done.
  • Break ambiguous business problems into structured workflows and engineering problems.
  • Identify where AI can remove, simplify, assist or automate work.
  • Design and build practical AI-enabled workflows, automations and agents.
  • Prototype, experiment and evaluate whether solutions actually work.
  • Work with leading AI models, platforms and tooling.
  • Explain technical AI concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Help users develop the capability to operate and improve solutions themselves.
  • Apply strong judgement around governance, security, limitations and human oversight.
  • Measure improvements across time, quality, capacity, experience and risk.
  • Continuously test new models, tools and techniques and bring what works into client delivery.
  • Take increasing ownership of client problems as your capability develops.

What Success Looks Like

  • Employees can perform AI-enabled work they could not perform before.
  • Users leave with redesigned workflows they actually understand and use.
  • AI solutions are tested against clear success criteria rather than judged on impressive demos.
  • Clients understand what has been built, where its limitations are and how outputs should be verified.
  • Business improvement is measurable.
  • You develop the judgement to solve increasingly ambiguous and complex problems independently.
  • You become a trusted contributor with both clients and the wider AiCore team.

Requirements

We care more about capability, trajectory and evidence of what you can do than a specific number of years of experience. You should have:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
  • Genuine interest in AI and evidence that you actively experiment with it.
  • Evidence that you like to build — through professional experience, university, projects, internships, hackathons, startups or your own work.
  • The ability to learn technical concepts quickly and apply them in practice.
  • Strong written and verbal communication.
  • Confidence working with different types of people, including clients and non-technical stakeholders.
  • High standards, high ownership and high integrity.
  • A willingness to take responsibility for outcomes rather than simply completing assigned tasks.
  • The ability to receive candid feedback and improve quickly.
  • Intellectual honesty, particularly when something you built doesn’t work.

You do not need to be a finished Forward-Deployed AI Engineer. We expect Associates to have significant room to develop. What matters is that you have the foundations, ambition and rate of learning to become an exceptional one.

Positive Signals

None of these are requirements. They are examples of signals that tend to get our attention:

  • You’ve built and shipped AI applications, automations, agents or other technical projects.
  • You do things beyond what is expected of you, contributing to open source, publishing projects, attending conferences, competing in hackathons or teaching yourself difficult things.
  • You’ve worked directly with users or customers to understand problems and build solutions.
  • You’ve taken an ambiguous problem and independently figured out how to solve it.
  • You have competed at a high level in a demanding discipline, whether sport, academics, music, debating, chess or something else.
  • You have a record of exceptional academic or professional achievement.
  • You have evidence of strong quantitative or technical ability.
  • You have built something impressive without being told to build it.
  • You have evidence of becoming genuinely excellent at something, whether or not it has anything to do with AI.

What We Offer

  • Forward-Deployed AI Engineering Academy: Structured development across AI engineering, workflows, automations, agents and enterprise AI.
  • Leading AI Platforms: Deep exposure to technologies including OpenAI, Anthropic and Microsoft.
  • Coaching and Development: Ongoing technical coaching and feedback from experienced colleagues.
  • Real Client Experience: Work directly on meaningful problems with organisations adopting AI.
  • Technical + Business Development: Develop engineering judgement alongside workflow thinking, consulting, communication and commercial understanding.
  • Increasing Ownership: Take responsibility for increasingly complex problems as your capability develops.
  • Performance-Based Career Growth: Progression follows capability and impact, not simply tenure.

Why AiCore?

  • Build Deep AI Expertise: Build your career at the centre of one of the biggest shifts in knowledge work. You’ll develop practical expertise in how organisations actually adopt AI and create measurable value from it.
  • Work on Real Problems: You won’t be limited to internal exercises or theoretical projects. You’ll work with organisations, understand how people actually work and build solutions designed to survive contact with the real world.
  • Develop Technical and Commercial Judgement: Become technically excellent while learning how businesses operate. You’ll develop AI engineering skills alongside workflow thinking, consulting, communication and commercial understanding.
  • Take Responsibility Early: As your capability grows, so will your ownership. Strong performers will quickly move from supporting delivery to owning increasingly difficult problems.
  • Progress Based on Capability: We don’t believe progression should simply be a function of time served. The better you become and the more impact you can create, the more responsibility you’ll be trusted with.

The goal isn’t simply to give you a job working with AI. It’s to help you become an outstanding Forward-Deployed AI Engineer.
