Remote-first, UK | Fractional contract | Client-facing
We are looking for an experienced AI Transformation Architect to design and lead enterprise AI transformation programmes that deliver measurable business outcomes. This role sits above hands-on delivery. Rather than building automations yourself, you will design the operating model, governance structures, stakeholder framework and delivery approach that enable successful AI transformation.
You will work directly with executive sponsors and senior stakeholders to translate AI ambition into executable programmes, define how each engagement should operate, determine the capabilities required for success, and ensure measurable value is realised. You will own the overall architecture of client engagements: aligning stakeholders, defining governance, shaping delivery teams, managing programme risk and ensuring organisations move from experimentation to sustainable AI adoption.
This is not a traditional project-management role. We are looking for someone who can create clarity in complex environments, challenge constructively, and architect transformation programmes that deliver lasting organisational change.
What you'll do
- Design AI transformation operating models for enterprise clients.
- Translate executive objectives into structured programmes, workstreams and success measures.
- Define governance structures, steering committees, stakeholder forums and decision-making frameworks.
- Establish the executive sponsorship, business ownership and stakeholder model required for successful adoption.
- Design delivery pods and determine the mix of consultants, architects, technical specialists, change practitioners and governance resources required for each engagement.
- Define how AI capability-building, workflow redesign, automation, governance and change management fit together within a programme.
- Align senior stakeholders across Operations, HR, L&D, IT, Data, Transformation and executive leadership teams.
- Establish programme reporting, value-realisation frameworks and outcome measurement approaches.
- Identify delivery risks, organisational barriers, capability gaps and operating-model challenges before they impact programme success.
- Guide delivery teams and specialist consultants throughout programme execution.
- Support retention, renewal and account expansion by making business value visible.
- Contribute reusable operating models, governance frameworks, delivery methodologies, playbooks and case studies.
You'll be a strong fit if you have
- Significant experience designing and leading enterprise transformation programmes.
- Strong client-facing credibility with executive and senior stakeholders.
- Experience defining operating models, governance structures and organisational change initiatives.
- Practical understanding of generative AI, automation, agents and workflow redesign.
- Experience leading multidisciplinary consulting or transformation teams.
- Strong programme mobilisation, facilitation and stakeholder-management skills.
- The ability to translate broad strategic objectives into focused, executable transformation plans.
- Experience establishing value-realisation frameworks and executive reporting structures.
- Commercial awareness across client retention, expansion and long-term value creation.
- Confidence operating independently across multiple enterprise engagements.
Strong backgrounds include
- Enterprise transformation consulting
- AI transformation consulting
- Technology transformation consulting
- Operating model design
- Digital transformation leadership
- Programme architecture
- Management consulting
- Transformation office leadership
- Enterprise technology implementation
- Strategy and transformation advisory
Experience from consulting organisations such as Accenture, Deloitte, KPMG, EY, PwC, PA Consulting, Avanade, IBM Consulting, Cognizant, Slalom, Capgemini, Baringa or similar environments is highly relevant.
What success looks like
- Every engagement has a clear operating model, governance framework and stakeholder structure.
- Executive sponsors have visibility of measurable business outcomes and value creation.
- Delivery teams are correctly structured and positioned for successful execution.
- AI programmes move beyond experimentation into sustainable organisational adoption.
- Risks, dependencies and organisational barriers are identified and addressed early.
- Clients achieve measurable improvements in productivity, capability, quality, capacity and operational effectiveness.
- Delivery approaches become increasingly repeatable, scalable and commercially successful.
Engagement
- Fractional contract.
- Remote-first within the UK.
- Flexible commitment based on programme volume.
- Competitive day rate or fractional retainer.
- Opportunity to increase involvement as the portfolio grows.
Why join
Organisations are moving beyond AI experimentation. They now need leadership across governance, operating-model design, stakeholder alignment, workflow redesign, capability-building and measurable business value. This is an opportunity to shape how enterprise AI transformation is delivered, working alongside highly capable AI consultants, architects and specialists while helping build a repeatable model for large-scale organisational change. You will help organisations move from isolated AI initiatives to sustainable, enterprise-wide transformation.
