The role of Sector Head for Fertiliser is an exciting opportunity to lead AIC’s strategic, regulatory, and stakeholder engagement work across the UK fertiliser industry. This influential position places you at the centre of shaping policy, supporting Members, and ensuring the sector’s priorities are represented at the highest levels.
As Sector Head, you will act as the principal liaison between AIC Members and key government and regulatory bodies, including the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra), the Health and Safety Executive (HSE), the Environment Agency (EA), and other stakeholders. You will ensure the sector’s voice is heard throughout policy development, regulatory consultations, and industry-wide initiatives.
A core part of the role involves providing support to Members through technical guidance, contract management, and safety leadership. Across all responsibilities, the guiding objective is clear: to add value for Members. Every engagement, decision, and activity is focused on strengthening their businesses and representing their interests.

Responsibilities
- Act as the principal liaison between AIC Members and key government and regulatory bodies (Defra, HSE, EA, and others).
- Shape and influence policy, participate in regulatory consultations, and support industry-wide initiatives to represent Members’ priorities.
- Provide Members with technical guidance, contract management support, and safety leadership to add value and strengthen their businesses.
