A senior Partner has been identified to lead the creation of a new AI Control practice within a global professional-services firm.
We are now seeking a Senior Managing Director / Managing Director to help turn that strategic proposition into a scaled, commercial and technically credible business.
This is not a conventional AI governance or policy position.
It is a practice-building mandate spanning the full AI Control lifecycle—from initial AI and agent inventories through permissions, evaluation, security, assurance, monitoring, incident response and board reporting.
THE OPPORTUNITY
Enterprises are deploying AI faster than governments can establish a consistent regulatory framework.
AI agents are entering business-critical workflows. Model access is becoming strategically contested. Sovereign-data requirements are increasing. Boards are demanding adoption while simultaneously seeking greater control, evidence and accountability.
The resulting requirement is no longer simply for periodic governance assessments or isolated red-team exercises.
Clients increasingly need continuous AI Control.
The firm already possesses substantial capability across AI, Cyber, Risk, Assurance, Technology and Governance.
The leadership challenge is to integrate those components into a coherent market proposition—and build the technical, commercial and delivery infrastructure required to scale it.
THE MANDATE
Working directly with the identified Practice Leader, the successful executive will:
- Help build and scale an integrated AI Control practice
- Translate the strategic thesis into market-facing propositions and delivery offerings
- Originate, sell and expand major client relationships
- Lead board and executive conversations around AI adoption, risk and control
- Bring together capabilities across AI engineering, cyber, assurance, technology risk and governance
- Develop services covering AI and agent inventories, model evaluation, permissions, guardrails, observability, security testing, auditability and incident response
- Build recurring managed AI Control services rather than relying solely on episodic advisory work
- Recruit and lead multidisciplinary teams of engineers, scientists, security specialists, risk professionals and advisers
- Establish repeatable methodologies, technical assets and intellectual property
- Maintain delivery quality and technical credibility as the practice scales
THE PROFILE
We are interested in executives currently operating at Managing Director, Senior Managing Director, Partner or equivalent level.
The strongest candidates will bring:
- Experience building or materially scaling an AI, cyber, assurance, data or technology-risk capability
- Sufficient technical depth to challenge AI architectures, models, agents, evaluation methods, security controls and monitoring environments
- Credibility with boards, chief executives, technology leaders, risk executives and regulators
- Experience leading complex, multidisciplinary client programmes
- The ability to convert emerging technical risk into a compelling commercial proposition
- A strong understanding of how AI Control must operate continuously across the technology lifecycle
Relevant backgrounds may include:
- AI Assurance and model evaluation
- AI engineering and Agentic AI
- AI security and cyber
- Technology and model risk
- Responsible AI and AI governance
- Frontier-model testing and evaluation
This role is unlikely to suit a pure policy specialist, a conventional framework adviser or a technologist without meaningful commercial leadership experience.
We are looking for an executive who can operate at the convergence of engineering, security, assurance, governance and enterprise value—and help build that convergence into a significant professional-services business.
