AI Connect are working with a leading business in the UK’s energy aggregation market that is looking for a Commercial Analyst to join their growing team in Edinburgh. The business plays a key role in the transition to a more flexible, low-carbon electricity system, working with generators, battery storage and commercial energy users to optimise their assets and unlock new revenue opportunities.

What will you be doing?

  • Developing the metrics used to assess asset performance and commercial returns
  • Building and maintaining internal and customer-facing reporting
  • Translating complex contractual requirements into measurable data processes
  • Supporting commercial settlements, controls and reconciliation
  • Analysing asset availability, degradation, efficiency, cycling and performance
  • Helping incorporate asset health and technical performance into optimisation tools
  • Identifying future commercial opportunities for Energy Partners
  • Turning data into clear, actionable commercial insight

What are they looking for?

Ideally, you’ll have 2+ years' experience in a commercial, analytical, financial or operational role. Experience with Excel, Power BI, SQL or Python would be highly valuable, alongside strong commercial awareness and the ability to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Experience in energy, energy trading, battery storage, asset optimisation or flexibility markets would be a bonus, but isn't essential.

Location: Edinburgh city centre

Salary: Up to £47,000 + bonus + benefits package

Annual leave: 30 days + public holidays

Pension contribution: 7%

Life cover: 4x base salary

Work arrangement: 2 days in-office per week
