About AHV

AHV is driving a new era in livestock health — one where proactive prevention becomes the norm, keeping herds healthier for longer and supporting long-term productivity. By improving animal welfare, performance, and sustainability, AHV helps farmers and the wider food chain meet the evolving demands of society, building a stronger and more resilient future for agriculture — one farm at a time.

At the heart of our approach are AHV Health Plans — structured, farm-specific programmes built around real farm data, science, and hands-on consultant support. These plans help farmers take control of herd health, track measurable progress, and make confident, informed decisions that protect both productivity and profitability.

Every Health Plan relies on accurate, consistent data — and the insights that come from it — to show farmers where they are today, where they can be tomorrow, and how to get there.

That’s where this role comes in.

The Role

We are seeking a Herd Health & Performance Analyst to join our UK & Ireland team — an exciting opportunity for a data-driven agriculture graduate to work directly with our consultants, farmers, and global team to turn herd data into actionable insights that improve farm performance and sustainability.

This role is pivotal in ensuring our data processes — from collection through to analysis and reporting — deliver measurable value to farmers and help consultants use herd health insights to drive meaningful change on farm.

You will be working closely with the Herd Health & Longevity Manager and Data Analysis & Research Team to:

  • Extract, process, and analyse herd health data from multiple sources (milk recording, robotics, herd management software) to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency across all reporting.
  • Produce actionable farm reports that clearly communicate key KPIs and measurable progress for farmers as part of their AHV Health Plan.
  • Guide farmers on the value and importance of accurate and regular data recording and work directly with farmers and AHV Consultants to ensure data is understood and applied to improve herd health, productivity, and longevity.
  • Support AHV Consultants in thinking commercially about the data collected, and in using it to guide farm decisions and demonstrate ROI.
  • Identify risks and opportunities by using data to spot early warning signs of herd health decline, retention risks, or potential growth areas — and collaborate with consultants to take preventative or growth-focused action.
  • Streamline communication and data flow between farm, AHV Consultants, and farm support teams to ensure timely and accurate decision-making.
  • Maintain and enhance data quality standards across all sources and outputs.
  • Research and apply external industry best practice, seeking out new tools and approaches to improve data collection practices and the value of data for decision-making and performance tracking.
  • Utilise and develop benchmarking tools to compare farm performance, motivate improvement, and identify trends across AHV’s customer base.
  • Build clear “progress stories” for farmers, showing the long-term impact and return on investment of AHV Health Plans.
  • Support the Herd Health & Longevity Manager with herd performance insights, strategy development, and delivery of high-priority projects.
  • Strengthen AHV’s industry credibility by providing relevant herd insights to farmers’ vets, advisors, and other stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with Marketing to supply data-driven success stories, trends, and benchmarks for campaigns and farmer resources.
  • Contribute to research trials, assisting with the design, execution, and analysis of projects that advance AHV’s product and service offering.
  • Represent AHV externally at industry events, conferences, and shows when required.
  • Maintain relationships with data providers and partners to ensure smooth data access and collaborative improvements in processes.
  • Manage multiple priorities effectively, delivering high-quality work on agreed timelines.

Education & Experience

  • Degree in Agriculture, Animal Science, Dairy Science, or a related discipline.
  • Strong understanding of dairy herd management, key KPIs, and modern farming systems.
  • Excellent data analysis skills — Excel essential; Python, R, or similar is advantageous.
  • Confident communicator, able to explain complex data clearly to farmers and colleagues.
  • Analytical, detail-oriented, and commercially aware.
  • Comfortable working independently while collaborating with multiple teams.

Willingness to travel across the UK & Ireland as required.
