We are looking for an Architect based in the UK who can commute to our offices in Bristol. The role involves planning and designing buildings and land areas, ensuring functional and aesthetic requirements are met within budget and time constraints. You will maintain effective working relationships, understand your place within the team, and collaborate with colleagues to achieve the best outcomes for each project.
Your Skills and Experience
- ARB registered Architect with a minimum of 2 years’ UK experience
- Proven commercial and contractual awareness
- Cross-sector experience is ideal
- Advanced knowledge of SketchUp, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and other digital imaging tools
- Two years’ experience with Autodesk Revit
- Routine use of Newforma Project Center for managing emails, creating, issuing and preserving record documents and sharing files
Key Responsibilities
- Take receipt of a brief from an AHR Manager and develop a design aligned with the RIBA Plan of Work.
- Help coordinate the development of AHR’s Pre-Construction Information, deliverables and DRM.
- Produce efficient, effective and sustainable designs.
- Prepare compliant designs following UK Construction Law, British Standards and relevant CoPs.
- Select or advise on material choice.
- Author specifications using AHR’s NBS Masters, sourcing up-to-date technical information from manufacturers.
- Participate in project reviews and coordination workshops.
- Assist with statutory submissions, including Planning, Building Regulations and Building Safety Gateways.
- Negotiate with statutory bodies, write reports and complete planning and gateway submissions.
- Attend meetings and workshops with clients, designers, contractors and specialists.
- Support the Project Lead with the Design Risk Register.
- Use document control on your project(s) in line with AHR protocols.
