As a Sanitation Associate, it will be your job to maintain all sanitation standards established by the Distribution Center in order to ensure a clean and safe work environment for all associates.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Pick up debris, empty trash cans, remove spills in a prompt manner; dust racks, doors, lights, etc.
- Sweep and mop slots, clean restrooms, break-rooms and offices in assigned areas.
- Clean sanitation equipment, including sanitation boxes and mops.
- Record all damaged product on a damage control sheet.
- Sweep and scrub floors, as well as outside areas to help ensure the safety, proper sanitation and efficiency of the distribution center.
- Maintain equipment daily; topping off fluids, cleaning out brushes and washing equipment.
- Record and report all damaged product properly.
- Follow good sanitation practices; keep work area clean and free of debris.
- Report equipment and pallet jack problems to maintenance.
- Make recommendations for modifications to procedures or processes impacting work group or distribution center that will maximize efficiency, productivity, and reduce costs.
- Ensure compliance with company standards in the areas of accuracy, safety and productivity.
Minimum Qualifications
- Able to reach, stoop, bend and lift up to 60 lbs.
- Able to stand for long periods of time.
- Able to work in a warehouse environment with varying conditions (i.e. cool temperatures, concrete floors, powered industrial trucks).
- Able to work needed schedule to perform assigned duties.
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Education.
- Certification on powered industrial equipment where applicable.
- Familiarity/experience in a distribution environment.
Skills and Abilities
- Able to meet production standards set by the company.
- Able to read and understand written and numeric product identifiers.
- Highly motivated self-starter and team player with strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
