Position Summary
Execute the base and promotional pricing strategies as identified by banners so that the category is achieving the margin goals and the index targets established by the banner. Analyze performance to identify opportunities and present recommendations that mitigate risk to the banner and category.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist in the training of new CMP Analysts and CMP Assistants.
- Monitor and influence promotional pricing strategies for a specific department or super category across all banners by price zone.
- Forecast margin rate by department or super category for each banner.
- Assist in the development of budgets by banner and department.
- Investigate indexing opportunities and communicate the findings to CMP leadership.
- Conduct competitive analysis to determine appropriate promotional retails by zone.
- Work with Category teams and Pricing counterparts to achieve margin goals and index targets.
- Present recommendations for review that close any gaps if counter to a Banner’s strategy.
- Analyze trends to identify changes and communicate those findings to the Category teams and Pricing counterparts.
- Monitor cost changes and competitive changes via Revionics and Index Reporting, ensuring that foundational pricing principles are followed.
- Execute store-level New Neighbor pricing on critical items weekly.
- Become proficient in (and consistently leverage) specialized Pricing tools to include (but not limited to) IRI, MarketTrack, Revionics.
- Execute the closeout process.
- Work with Category teams to reduce tag expense and the associate retail labor through effective promotional plans.
- Conduct WPT/APT scrapes weekly in service of above listed objectives.
- Ad hoc activities as directed by the direct Supervisor.
Basic Qualifications
- Proficient in Microsoft Office including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.
Preferred Qualifications
- Solid knowledge of company and industry practices and procedures.
- Highly motivated.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications with a strong emphasis on Excel (macros) and PowerPoint.
- Knowledge of MicroStrategy (DSS), MS SharePoint, MS Access, Revionics, Market Track, Essbase/Smart View, and/or SEGA (legacy IBM mainframe system).
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Mathematics, Statistics or related field or equivalent experience.
Experience
3 – 5 years of experience.
