Alfred H Knight has an exciting opportunity for a Laboratory Technician to join our team in Truro, Cornwall. This is an active role in the delivery of mineral processing test work and to work within a team to deliver projects at a high standard, ensuring quality of delivery.
The role involves performing metallurgical and analytical testing in strict accordance with Standard Operating Procedures and Work Instructions. Maintaining accurate, complete, and legible records is essential, as is ensuring effective communication with team members and project managers regarding progress or any deviations from planned testing. A strong commitment to Health and Safety is fundamental, including the safe handling of hazardous materials and the maintenance of a clean, secure working environment.
Operational duties include managing sample logistics, waste disposal, and stock levels to keep the laboratory running efficiently. You will also be responsible for equipment repair, maintenance, and regular calibration checks to ensure the continued effectiveness of all laboratory tools.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND WORK EXPERIENCE
- Basic math and proficiency with MS Office and Google products
- Good record keeping with attention to detail and accuracy
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work effectively both in a team environment and individually
- Self‑motivated and adaptable
