The Role: This role is responsible for maintaining food safety and product quality standards by carrying out routine checks, audits, sampling, and monitoring activities in line with GMP requirements. It involves identifying and escalating any issues promptly, ensuring non-conforming products are controlled, and supporting continuous compliance with site procedures and specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carrying out positive release checks (Harford) accurately and on time, ensuring any issues are escalated and materials at risk are isolated.
- Performing quality checks on raw materials and finished products against specification, with immediate escalation of out-of-spec results.
- Completing daily shelf-life assessments including gas level checks and reporting trends or concerns.
- Monitoring raw material condition in storage to ensure ongoing compliance.
- Raising concessions and managing product holds for non-conforming materials, including clear communication across teams.
- Reporting and managing foreign body incidents or risks in line with site procedures.
- Conducting glass audits as per schedule and escalating non-conformances.
- Completing equipment calibration (scales, thermometers, callipers, magnets) in line with schedules.
- Collecting microbiological and pesticide samples, conducting swabbing, and submitting samples via the lab portal.
- Conducting mini GMP audits and follow-up audits, ensuring findings are clearly communicated and addressed.
- Adhering to site procedures, GMP, and food safety standards at all times.
- Communicating effectively with production, technical, and management teams regarding quality and food safety issues.
- Supporting continuous improvement by identifying risks, trends, and opportunities for better control.
