The Role: The Health & Safety Co-Ordinator is responsible for providing assistance to the business and performing general health and safety compliance and admin duties to ensure that all HSE processes and procedures are systematically recorded and adhered to at all times.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assisting with the review and development of the H&S Management System, including but not limited to; risk and COSHH assessments, policies and procedures, SSOW, etc.
- Supporting and advising managers and supervisors, where competent to do so, on accident investigations, risk assessment, COSHH assessments, SSOW etc.
- Supporting with and conducting H&S routine checks and auditing, where competent to do so, through all areas of the business.
- Ensuring that all areas of the business are being maintained in accordance with Health and Safety and environmental standards.
- Support with and conduct delivery of, where competent to do so, site briefings across all departments within the business.
- Assist in the control and management of the near miss system.
- Delivery of new staff inductions.
- Monitoring of safety training requirements and arranging training where required.
- Updates and maintains any records and systems in relation to HSE activity.
- Creates and prepares any documentation for HSE Department and coordinates dissemination.
- Collect and report on data in relation to business measures for HSE.
- Assist in compiling reports and statistics.
- Provides general administrative support to the HSE Department.
- Communicates with management, staff, client and visitors, and acts as a resource for general HSE administrative inquiries and information.
- Demonstrates commitment to the continued improvement of Occupational Health, Safety and Environment.
We are looking for:
Essential:
- Educated within a Business Administration remit, or related field.
- Admin experience within a fast-paced environment.
- Exceptional written, oral communication and interpersonal skills.
- Intermediate to advance level skills in Microsoft Office Packages (Word, Excel, Outlook, Power-point etc.).
- Excellent organisational skills.
Desirable:
- NEBOSH Certificate.
- NEBOSH Diploma or IOSH qualification.
- Previous HSE admin experience.
- Experience of working in food manufacturing.
