About the Role:
Due to on-going growth, Argon Engineering (Part of AGZ Group) are currently looking to recruit Welder / Fabricators to work within our subcontract engineering organisation. This is an exciting opportunity for the successful applicants to join our well-established engineering company.
Key Responsibilities:
- Welding & Fabrication: Perform MIG, TIG, and/or Stick welding on a variety of metals including mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminium.
- Reading Technical Drawings: Interpret and work from engineering drawings and specifications to fabricate components accurately.
- Cutting & Shaping Materials: Use tools such as plasma cutters, oxy-acetylene torches, grinders, and saws to cut and shape metal parts.
- Assembly of Fabricated Parts: Assemble fabricated components into final products or sub-assemblies, ensuring correct alignment and fit.
- Quality Assurance: Inspect welds and finished products for accuracy, strength, and compliance with quality standards.
- Workshop & Site Work: Carry out fabrication and welding tasks both in the workshop and on-site as required.
- Tool & Equipment Maintenance: Maintain welding and fabrication tools and equipment in good working order.
- Health & Safety Compliance: Follow all health and safety procedures, including the use of PPE and safe working practices.
- Collaboration: Work closely with engineers, supervisors, and other trades to meet project deadlines and specifications.
What We’re Looking For:
- Have a broad knowledge within a sub-contact engineering environment with experience in the Water and Quarrying industries being advantageous.
- Able to work well in a team environment with excellent communication skills.
- Good problem-solving skills are essential.
- Operate at all times within current Health & Safety, Environmental and Quality regulations. (ISO 45001/14001/9001).
- Possess a full UK driving licence.
