About the Role:
Due to on-going growth, Gillrick Metalwork (Part of AGZ Group) are currently looking to recruit Sheet Metalworkers to work within our subcontract engineering organisation. This is an exciting opportunity for the successful applicants to join our well-established engineering company.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sheet Metal Fabrication: Cut, bend, form, and assemble sheet metal components using hand tools, power tools, and machinery such as press brakes, guillotines, and rollers.
- Reading Technical Drawings: Interpret and work from engineering drawings and specifications to ensure accurate fabrication.
- Welding & Joining: Perform MIG, TIG, or spot welding to join sheet metal parts as required.
- Material Handling: Select appropriate materials and thicknesses for each job, ensuring efficient use and minimal waste.
- Finishing Work: Carry out grinding, deburring, and polishing to achieve required surface finishes and tolerances.
- Quality Control: Inspect fabricated parts for accuracy, fit, and finish, ensuring compliance with quality standards.
- Health & Safety Compliance: Follow all safety procedures, including the correct use of PPE and safe operation of tools and machinery.
- Maintenance of Equipment: Maintain tools and machinery in good working order and report any faults or issues promptly.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with engineers, supervisors, and other trades to meet production targets and deadlines.
What Weβre Looking For:
- Have a broad knowledge within a sub-contact engineering environment.
- Able to work well in a team environment with excellent communication skills.
- Good problem-solving skills are essential.
- Operate at all times within current Health & Safety, Environmental and Quality regulations. (ISO 45001/14001/9001).
- Possess a full UK driving licence.
