Role Summary
We are seeking an experienced Senior Java Developer to join our FM Digital Channels team at a leading international bank. You will drive our platform forward and deliver quality solutions to business-critical customer requirements, collaborating with a dynamic global team of technologists, business analysts, project managers, and business stakeholders across multiple locations.

Team & Reporting Line
The FM Digital Channels team is responsible for cross-product transactional pricing of derivatives within the bank. The team culture is open, intellectual, and engaging, with plentiful learning opportunities and clear pathways for career advancement for high-performing talent.
Location & Work Mode
This role is based in London, UK, offering a hybrid work arrangement with 2 days onsite and 3 days working from home each week.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive platform development forward and deliver high-quality solutions to business-critical customer requirements
- Collaborate with global teams across multiple locations including technologists, business analysts, and project managers
- Take full ownership of the complete development lifecycle from design through support
- Design, develop, and maintain end-to-end financial markets systems
- Write efficient, clear, and robust code with comprehensive accompanying test suites
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of hands-on development experience in investment banking IT environments
- Excellent Core Java development skills with strong software design principles
- Proven experience with Java concurrency and Spring Framework
- Derivatives and FX Options trading technology experience
- Experience designing and supporting real-time event-driven architectures
- Proficiency working in agile development environments
- Fluent English language skills (both speaking and writing)
Preferred Qualifications
- Full-stack web development experience
- RX Java expertise
- Micro-services and container technologies experience (Docker)
- Distributed data stores experience
- Functional programming background
- e-trading technology experience
- CI/CD and DevOps familiarity

Compensation & Benefits
- Rate: £750 PAYE Inside IR35 (equivalent to £195,000 annually)
- Contract Duration: 6 months with extensions available (long-term project with 2-4+ years potential)
- 38 days annual leave
