The Opportunity

We are looking for a proactive, commercially minded Founder’s Associate to work directly with the Founder and leadership team of a growing cybersecurity SaaS business.

This is a varied, high-impact role for someone who enjoys taking ownership, solving problems and making things happen. You will work across multiple areas of the business, helping turn strategic decisions into action, improving operational efficiency, supporting commercial growth and taking responsibility for projects that make a measurable difference.

Rather than following a fixed set of processes, you will be trusted to identify what needs doing, develop practical solutions and see them through to completion. This will include using automation and AI to streamline workflows, supporting sales and business development activity, coordinating events, assisting with recruitment and helping the leadership team maintain momentum across the business.

The role offers significant exposure to how a growing company operates, including its commercial performance, financial information, board materials and investor discussions.

About the Company

The business is a B2B SaaS provider helping enterprise organisations manage cybersecurity and third-party risk across their supply chains.

Its platform, enables security and risk leaders to identify, assess and respond to risks associated with suppliers, partners and other external organisations.

The company is entering an important period of growth. With a London-based team of 13, it offers the opportunity to join a small, ambitious business where individual contributions have a direct impact.

Key Responsibilities

1. Business Operations and Strategic Projects

  • Work closely with the Founder to translate decisions and priorities into clear actions, responsibilities and deadlines, ensuring progress is tracked and commitments are delivered.
  • Prepare decision-making briefs, presenting relevant information, options, financial considerations and recommendations to help the Founder make informed decisions.
  • Identify operational inefficiencies and develop improved processes, using automation and AI wherever appropriate to save time and reduce costs.
  • Collaborate with the Finance & Operations Director on processes relating to recruitment, contracting and general business operations.
  • Take ownership of special projects as business priorities evolve, including supporting future fundraising activities.
  • Assist with sourcing and assessing candidates as the company grows its team.
  • Help maintain an organised, productive London office and coordinate team socials and internal activities.

2. Sales and Commercial Growth

  • Research target accounts, organisations and key stakeholders ahead of sales meetings, providing the Founder with relevant background information and meeting briefs.
  • Coordinate post-meeting activity, ensuring follow-ups, actions and next steps are completed.
  • Support the preparation of sales proposals and maintain accurate, up-to-date information within HubSpot.
  • Work alongside the Director of Growth on go-to-market (GTM) activities, including outbound campaigns targeting potential customers and partners.
  • Help develop and deliver commercial outreach initiatives that support pipeline generation and business growth.
  • Support the planning and delivery of customer, prospect and partner events, including roundtables.
  • Assist with content creation and the delivery of paid marketing campaigns as required.

3. AI, Automation and Process Improvement

  • Take a hands-on approach to identifying repetitive or inefficient tasks that could be improved through technology.
  • Build and implement AI-assisted workflows to automate recurring activities and improve productivity.
  • Use tools such as Claude and other advanced AI models to develop practical solutions to business challenges.
  • Evaluate existing processes across areas such as hiring, finance, contracting and growth, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency.
  • Apply sound judgement when using AI, checking outputs and ensuring the technology supports good decision-making rather than replacing critical thinking.

About You

We are looking for someone who combines strong execution with curiosity, commercial awareness and a willingness to take responsibility.

You may have experience in a startup, a small business, a fast-growing organisation or another environment where you have had to work independently and make things happen without relying on established processes.

Relevant experience is useful, but evidence of initiative, ownership and delivery is particularly important.

Essential attributes

  • A track record of getting things done: You can demonstrate something you personally initiated, developed or delivered that would not otherwise have happened. This could be a project, business venture, side project, university society initiative or work within a startup.
  • Strong ownership and accountability: You follow through on commitments, manage competing priorities and take responsibility for achieving outcomes. You are also comfortable holding others accountable.
  • A proactive, problem-solving mindset: You identify what needs attention, work through challenges independently and develop practical solutions without waiting for detailed instructions.
  • Commercial curiosity: You are interested in how businesses grow and are willing to get involved in sales, go-to-market activity, prospect outreach and events, even if you have not previously held a dedicated GTM role.
  • An interest in AI and automation: You are comfortable exploring new tools and applying them to real business problems. Hands-on experience with Claude or other advanced AI models would be particularly valuable.
  • Adaptability: You are happy working across different business functions, switching between strategic projects and practical day-to-day tasks as priorities change.
  • Clear communication: You can research information, prepare concise briefs, communicate recommendations and coordinate actions with different stakeholders.

Useful experience

  • Experience working in a startup, small business or fast-moving environment.
  • Familiarity with HubSpot or similar CRM platforms.
  • Experience supporting outbound sales, business development, marketing campaigns or events.
  • Practical experience using AI tools to improve workflows, automate tasks or increase productivity.
  • Experience coordinating projects, supporting recruitment or improving business processes.
  • A dedicated sales or go-to-market background is not essential. The priority is someone willing to learn, get involved and take ownership.

This is an opportunity to work closely with the Founder and leadership team in a small business where decisions can be translated into action quickly.

The company places a strong emphasis on automation, AI and individual initiative. You will be given problems to solve rather than simply being handed a prescribed process, with access to the information, resources and support needed to make progress.

The environment is demanding and fast-moving. Priorities can change, responsibilities are broad, and everyone is expected to contribute wherever the business needs support. You should be comfortable taking on both significant projects and smaller practical tasks without viewing either as outside your remit.

In return, you will gain exposure to business strategy, commercial operations, finance, fundraising and leadership decision-making.

The role is designed to grow alongside your contribution. As you demonstrate your ability to deliver results, you will be trusted with greater responsibility and more complex projects.

The company will provide coaching and development from people with experience of founding, building and financing businesses.

Longer-term opportunities could include progressing into a Chief of Staff position, leading a business function or developing the experience and skills to build your own company.
