Train Cab (Nose End) Cleaners to join our busy team at London St Pancras International
Pay Rate: £14.80 per hour
Hours: Shift-based (including AM/PM/Weekends and Bank Holidays as required)
Contract Type: Temp to Perm
About the Role
As a Train (Cab) Windscreen Cleaner, you will be responsible for ensuring train windscreens at both ends are maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness while adhering to strict rail safety procedures. This is a specialist cleaning role involving the use of approved cleaning equipment and safety barriers, whilst working on station platforms in a highly safety critical role. This is of paramount importance.
Train (Cab) Windscreen Responsibilities:
- Clean train cab windscreens safely and effectively using approved methods and equipment.
- Set up and use platform edge protection barriers.
- Follow all site safety procedures and risk assessments.
- Carry out equipment checks before use.
- Maintain clean and safe working areas.
- Communicate with platform controllers and operational staff before commencing work.
- Ensure all work is completed to the required quality standards.
- Report any defects, incidents or safety concerns immediately.
- Reliable and safety-conscious individuals.
- Ability to work outdoors in a busy railway environment.
- Clear and effective communication skills. Liaising with onsite management in person and via radio.
- Physically fit and comfortable carrying out manual tasks.
- Ability to follow detailed procedures and instructions.
- Team player with a positive attitude.
- Previous rail, industrial, cleaning or facilities experience is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided.
- Must be able to work safely in a rail environment.
- Willingness to complete all required training and site inductions.
- Comfortable working near platform edges, whilst following strict safety controls.
- Must be able and willing to work as part of a two-person team.
