JOB PURPOSE
To provide continual support to all Team Leaders in all aspects relating to the smooth running of the Machine Shop. Carry out daily and weekly safety and machinery operational checks and report any faults immediately. To carry out instructions from the Production Manager and Team Leaders in all aspects of the role including the personal control of job time bookings and document control in respect of drawings and quality plans. To produce a consistently high standard of work meeting production deadlines and cost targets. To ensure the teams compliance with Quality, Health Safety & Environmental standards and current legislations. To assist in other areas of the shop floor when required to help the smooth running of jobs through the department.
JOB ACTIVITIES
To carry out machining operations under the direct instruction of the Team Leaders to meet cost and delivery targets. Reduce machine down time through thorough checks and operator maintenance. To identify and, where possible, offer solutions to operational issues. Ensure that best practices in relation to Health, Safety & Environmental are adhered to at all times. Wherever possible assist all members of the Company including engineering in the continual development of the Cullum Product. Where reasonable travel to site and carry out assembly/fabrication work in support of the Company and ultimately the customers requirements.
SUPERVISION AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead by example on matters of Health Safety & Environmental, welfare and codes of conduct. Identify and suggest areas of improvement within the Machining role. Work under his/her own initiative and on occasion may be expected to guide and/or supervise staff. Work to attain optimum performance within the Production Department and associated areas of responsibility. Ensure that the Production Manager and Team Leader are informed of major developments and/or problems within the Fabrication or Assembly Teams, their supply chain and customers.
