Job Description
The Project Manager (PM) will:
- Support the client-side delivery of a major terminal expansion and refurbishment programme
- Assist with the management of a multidisciplinary design team appointed under NEC4 PSC
- Support procurement and delivery of the NEC4 ECC main contractor
- Assist in managing the project through the RIBA Plan of Work and internal governance processes
The role is suited to a person with 5 years of experience in construction engineering, architecture, or related fields, who wants to transition to a career in project management. The role will report to Airport Development Director and work in close cooperation with the wider development team responsible for Glasgow Airport expansion project.
Principle accountabilities
- Project Management & Coordination
- Support delivery across RIBA stages
- Assist with managing NEC4 PSC deliverables
- Support procurement of NEC4 ECC contractor and managing deliverables thereafter
- Maintaining Risk and EWN Registers, Issue logs, PEPs
- Preparation and assistance with MDNs and other stakeholder comms
- Take ownership of assigned subtasks and activities
- Support pass management, Control of Contractors, site visits, ORAT support
- Meeting & Governance Support
- Prepare agendas and minutes
- Maintain and track action logs
- Support working groups and design reviews
- Design & Technical Coordination
- Assist with reviewing design outputs and coordination with Design Team and independent Design Technical Review Team
- Track design deliverables and consultant performance
- Facilitate information flow among project stakeholders and 3rd parties
- Programme & Reporting
- Help maintain project schedules
- Support reporting
- Support risk management and maintenance of register
- Contribute to preparation dashboards, reports and governance materials
- Stakeholder Engagement
- Work with stakeholders across the wider campus including operations, security, IT, commercial, Engineering, H&S and 3rd Parties (such as UKBF, Police Scotland, Airlines, CAA, Building Control, etc)
- Support workshops and stakeholder coordination meetings
- Construction & Site Support
- Assist in monitoring construction progress
- Help coordinate activities to minimise operational disruption
- Assist in management of appointed field engineers / NEC4 Supervisors
- Assist in management of main contractor, ensuring all appropriate documentation (including CDM), processes and permissions are in place
Qualifications and experience
Essential
- Construction/engineering/architecture degree
- 5 years industry experience, including on-site experience
- Knowledge of RIBA and NEC
- Strong organisational and communication skills
Advantageous
- Client-side experience
- Experience in live operational environments
- NEC4 familiarity
- BIM/digital tools
Personal
