We have exciting opportunities at Glasgow Airport Limited for Airside Support Unit Operatives, to join our Airside Operations Team. The role will be on a permanent, 40 hour per week contract.

Overview

Providing assistance airside through coaching of passengers from gate to aircraft, participating in winter operations during adverse weather conditions, de-icing and winter equipment operation following an on-call roster. Sweeping and litter removal duties, cleaning spillages, washing of airbridges and buildings, refreshing existing paint markings.

Principle Accountabilities

  • Undertaking any task allocated by the Airside Operations Duty Manager or Airport Duty Manager landside or airside.
  • Conduct a litter picking operation either by vehicle or manual collection.
  • To assist with emergency situations which could arise within the Airport (i.e. evacuation procedures, emergency tent assistance).
  • Provide coaching operations to aircraft on the airfield or as required by airport operations.
  • Carry out winter operations related duties.
  • Carry out general maintenance activities including jet washing, cleaning, painting and other related activities.
  • Assist Airside Operations if required on Apron level one inspections and aircraft turnarounds.
  • Participate in projects and working parties and to carry out any other duties that may be outside the standard remit for the purpose of personal development, or as may be reasonably required by the Company.
  • Act as a member of the winter operations on call roster in an equipment operator capacity as required, including escorting and oversight of contractors/3rd parties.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Excellent team-working & communication skills
  • Sound interpersonal skills
  • Full UK Driver’s License is imperative
  • Ability to meet Glasgow Airport driver medical standards and attain a full GLA manoeuvring area driving permit
  • LGV licence (Groups C&E) and PCV licence (Group D) would be beneficial but not essential
  • Ability to obtain suitable security clearance to satisfy Civil & Military requirements, CRC & GSAT clearance required for airside pass
