- Worcestershire - £31,000–£40,000 The Job: The Yard Manager will be responsible for overseeing goods in and out, managing stock movements and ensuring the yard and warehouse remain safe, organised and efficient.
You will work closely with the Branch Manager, support the yard team and help maintain excellent customer service standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee incoming deliveries, checking quantities, condition and paperwork
- Supervise the safe unloading and loading of vehicles
- Ensure orders are picked correctly and stock discrepancies are investigated and reported
- Maintain a clean, tidy and organised yard, warehouse and parking areas
- Ensure stock, pallets and bundles are stored safely
- Maintain health and safety procedures, including PPE, manual handling and safe working practices
- Report accidents, near misses and safety concerns
- Support annual stocktakes, including preparation, counting and checking stock
- Help train new yard staff and cover duties when required
- Work closely with the Branch Manager to maintain depot standards and achieve operational goals The Company: Our client is an established supplier serving the agricultural and rural sectors, supplying products to farming businesses, trade customers and the wider rural community.
They are looking for a hands-on Yard Manager to oversee daily yard operations, maintain high health and safety standards and support the smooth running of the depot.
The Candidate
- Previous experience in a yard, warehouse or similar operational environment
- Strong awareness of health and safety procedures
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail
- A positive, practical and hands‑on approach
- Ability to lead and support a team while working independently
- Good communication skills and a commitment to customer service
- Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling duties
- Reliable, self-motivated and able to work in a busy environment
The Package
- Salary £31,000–£40,000 DOE
Candidate Requirements All applicants must hold a minimum of an NVQ Level 2, Scottish NVQ Level 2, or an equivalent qualification relevant to the role applied for.
Candidates must also have the legal right to work in the UK or hold a valid visa permitting employment.
