Responsibilities
- Lead landscape and garden design projects from initial concept through to construction and completion.
- Produce high-quality design packages, technical drawings, and planting plans.
- Manage client relationships and act as primary point of contact throughout projects.
- Coordinate contractors, consultants, and suppliers to ensure successful project delivery.
- Oversee project budgets, programmes, and site implementation.
- Mentor, support, and develop junior designers within the team.
- Contribute to the ongoing growth and development of the business.
- Travel throughout the UK and internationally as required.
Qualifications
- Degree, diploma, or equivalent qualification in Garden Design, Landscape Architecture, or a related discipline.
- 6–8+ years’ experience delivering high-quality landscape or garden design projects.
- Exceptional design ability from concept development through to technical detailing and construction documentation.
- Strong horticultural knowledge with a passion for naturalistic and ecological planting design.
- Proficiency in Vectorworks, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, and Google Workspace.
- Experience managing clients, contractors, consultants, and multiple project stakeholders.
- Strong communication, organisational, and project management skills.
- Ability to work independently, lead projects confidently, and mentor junior team members.
- Proactive, commercially aware, and enthusiastic about contributing to the growth of a successful design practice.
- Full UK driving licence and right to work in the UK.
- Chartered Landscape Architect (CMLI) status welcomed but not essential.
Candidate Requirements
- All applicants must hold a minimum of an NVQ Level 2, Scottish NVQ Level 2, or an equivalent qualification relevant to the role applied for.
- Candidates must also have the legal right to work in the UK or hold a valid visa permitting employment.
