We are working with a well established and growing business within the renewable energy and waste sector who are looking to recruit a Farm Operative to join their team at an anaerobic digestion (AD) facility in North West Oxfordshire.
This is a hands on role suited to someone practical and reliable, ideally with a background in agriculture, waste or plant operations. You’ll play a key part in the day to day running of the site, helping ensure everything operates safely, efficiently and in line with environmental standards.
Key Responsibilities- Safe receipt, tipping, and processing of food waste deliveries
- Operating plant and machinery including telehandlers (and forklifts where required)
- Supporting the smooth running of the AD process to meet site targets
- Carrying out routine maintenance checks and basic repairs
- Maintaining high standards of site cleanliness and general housekeeping
- Assisting with site records, compliance, and basic IT systems
- Working closely with drivers, colleagues, and site management
- Practical and hands-on with a good mechanical aptitude
- Background in agriculture, waste, or a similar environment preferred
- Comfortable working outdoors and in a regulated environment
- Basic IT skills (Excel/Word)
- Telehandler ticket desirable (training may be available)
- Strong awareness of health, safety, and environmental standards
This is a Monday to Friday role, with some requirement for weekends, bank holidays and participation in a call-out/standby rota. Salary £32,500 Overtime, paid at time and a half.
Candidate RequirementsAll applicants must hold a minimum of an NVQ Level 2, Scottish NVQ Level 2, or an equivalent qualification relevant to the role applied for. Candidates must also have the legal right to work in the UK or hold a valid visa permitting employment.
