Land Management Officer
North Yorkshire | £42,000 DOE + Accommodation + Benefits
The Role:
Are you passionate about protecting rural landscapes? Do you enjoy a mix of outdoor practical work and office-based coordination?
Responsibilities:
- Conduct site visits and inspections to evaluate land condition, access routes, and habitat quality.
- Perform practical land maintenance tasks, including fencing, vegetation control, access improvements, and habitat management.
- Coordinate contractors and seasonal workers on stewardship activities.
- Manage land management plans, records, and GIS data, ensuring compliance with environmental and legal standards.
- Serve as a liaison between landowners, local authorities, and conservation organizations to resolve issues and promote sustainable land use.
- Prepare reports, assist with funding applications, and ensure adherence to Health & Safety and environmental regulations.
About the Company:
We are recruiting on behalf of a leading organization in land and environmental stewardship for a key role based in North Yorkshire. This is a field-based, hands-on role focused on maintaining and enhancing land stewardship sites, including planning and compliance tasks.
Candidate Profile:
- Practical land management experience, comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions and terrains.
- Strong organizational and administrative skills for managing schedules, records, and reports.
- Knowledge of Countryside Stewardship Schemes or similar agri-environmental programs (preferred).
- Experience collaborating with contractors, landowners, or local authorities in land or conservation contexts.
- Familiarity with GIS, mapping tools, or environmental recordkeeping (beneficial).
- Relevant qualifications in land management, environmental conservation, forestry, or related fields.

- Salary £35,000 – £42,000 depending on experience
