Land Management Officer
North Yorkshire | £42,000 DOE + Accommodation + Benefits

The Role:

Are you passionate about protecting rural landscapes? Do you enjoy a mix of outdoor practical work and office-based coordination?

Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct site visits and inspections to evaluate land condition, access routes, and habitat quality.
  2. Perform practical land maintenance tasks, including fencing, vegetation control, access improvements, and habitat management.
  3. Coordinate contractors and seasonal workers on stewardship activities.
  4. Manage land management plans, records, and GIS data, ensuring compliance with environmental and legal standards.
  5. Serve as a liaison between landowners, local authorities, and conservation organizations to resolve issues and promote sustainable land use.
  6. Prepare reports, assist with funding applications, and ensure adherence to Health & Safety and environmental regulations.

About the Company:

We are recruiting on behalf of a leading organization in land and environmental stewardship for a key role based in North Yorkshire. This is a field-based, hands-on role focused on maintaining and enhancing land stewardship sites, including planning and compliance tasks.

Candidate Profile:

  1. Practical land management experience, comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions and terrains.
  2. Strong organizational and administrative skills for managing schedules, records, and reports.
  3. Knowledge of Countryside Stewardship Schemes or similar agri-environmental programs (preferred).
  4. Experience collaborating with contractors, landowners, or local authorities in land or conservation contexts.
  5. Familiarity with GIS, mapping tools, or environmental recordkeeping (beneficial).
  6. Relevant qualifications in land management, environmental conservation, forestry, or related fields.

The Package:

  • Salary £35,000 – £42,000 depending on experience
