A well established automotive repair centre is seeking a skilled Mechanical Technician to join its busy accident repair and bodyshop operation. Working within a modern, purpose-built facility, you will carry out mechanical repairs for a range of customers including insurance companies, manufacturers, fleet vehicles, and private clients. The role will involve diagnosing faults and completing mechanical, electrical, and trim repairs on accident-damaged vehicles to a high professional standard.
Responsibilities
- Carrying out servicing, repairs and maintenance on a variety of vehicles
- Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults using diagnostic equipment
- Completing repairs on accident damaged vehicles including mechanical and trim work
- Inspecting vehicle engines and components to identify and resolve issues
- Accurately recording job times and completing required documentation
- Supporting compliance with manufacturer and insurance repair standards
Training and support will be provided to ensure all repairs meet required manufacturer approvals and industry standards.
Requirements
- Previous experience working as a mechanic or mechanical technician
- IMI Level 3 in Light or Heavy Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (or equivalent)
- Strong diagnostic skills and experience using computer-based diagnostic equipment
- Ability to carry out servicing and repairs to a high standard
- Good attention to detail and accurate record keeping
- MOT certification
- Experience working within a manufacturer-approved repair centre
