Seeking an experienced Indoor Pig Unit Manager to oversee the day to day running of a large scale, straw based wean to finish unit in Hampshire, housing approximately 6,000 pigs. This is a hands‑on management position suited to someone who leads by example and is confident managing both livestock and staff to achieve high welfare and performance standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full wean to finish production cycle
- Oversee the health, welfare and performance of approximately 6,000 pigs
- Lead and motivate the on‑site team, maintaining high standards of work
- Ensure strict adherence to biosecurity and health & safety protocols
- Monitor performance targets and implement improvements where necessary
- Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with industry standards
- Work closely with vets, nutritionists, and other advisors
