A well established aggregates operation is seeking a confident and hands-on Quarry Manager to oversee day to day site operations in Guildford. You will lead and develop the site team to ensure efficient production, minimal downtime, and consistently high standards of quality, health & safety, and environmental compliance. The role includes operational planning, accurate reporting, and supporting mobile plant operations when required. Flexibility is essential, with occasional additional hours and travel to other sites.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading and motivating the team to maximise safe productivity
- Ensuring compliance with planning permissions, environmental permits and company procedures
- Supervising material processing and monitoring performance against targets
- Maintaining robust health, safety and environmental standards
- Supporting HR processes and site investigations where required, acting as the responsible person during emergencies
- Completing accurate daily reports and maintaining site records
- Overseeing preventative maintenance and defect reporting
- Maintaining a clean, safe, and secure working environment
- Providing operational cover at other sites when necessary

The Candidate:
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a managerial role within quarrying, aggregates or mining
- Statutory 8.1(c) and relevant NVQ qualifications
- Strong understanding of health, safety and environmental compliance
- Proven leadership and problem solving ability
- Competent with Microsoft Office and reporting systems
- Willingness to operate mobile plant (e.g. dozers, dumpers, loading shovels)
- First Aid at Work (or willingness to obtain)
- Full UK driving licence
The Package:
- Salary £45,000 – £52,000 per annum DOE
