The Role
A market-leading agricultural supplies business is seeking a proactive and commercially driven Fertiliser Sales Manager to join its Midlands team. Reporting to the Sales Manager, you will take ownership of fertiliser sales across a defined territory, delivering excellent customer service and technical support. This is a hands-on role working directly with farmers and contractors to provide fertiliser advice, drive sales, and achieve agreed targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and manage a strong portfolio of farm and contractor customers.
- Proactively generate new business and follow up on leads.
- Provide expert technical guidance on fertiliser products, application rates, and timings.
- Collaborate with logistics, stock, credit, and customer service teams to ensure smooth operations.
- Monitor competitor activity and market trends, feeding back insights to the wider business.
- Travel extensively within the territory, with some overnight stays required.
The Person
- Previous experience in fertiliser, crop inputs, or agricultural product sales (agronomy background advantageous).
- Strong knowledge of fertilisers, soils, and crop nutrition (FACTS qualification desirable).
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Motivated, target-focused, and confident working independently.
- Full UK driving licence required.
Salary & Benefits
- £35,000 – £45,000 basic salary depending on experience.
- Uncapped commission structure with excellent earning potential.
- Company car, mileage allowance, and full benefits package.
