Key Responsibilities
- Service, maintain and repair dairy machinery and equipment on customer farms.
- Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical and refrigeration faults.
- Install, commission and test new dairy systems and equipment.
- Provide technical support and advice to customers across the region.
- Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently and to industry standards.
- Maintain accurate service records, reports and job documentation.
- Respond to breakdowns and emergency callouts as required.
- Work closely with internal teams to support parts, sales and service functions.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times.
- Manage tools, stock and company vehicle responsibly.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience within refrigeration, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering or a combination of these disciplines.
- Strong understanding of dairy equipment, dairy systems and agricultural machinery.
- Experience working within a dairy, agricultural or farming environment is highly desirable.
- Ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical faults independently.
- Strong practical engineering, fault‑finding and problem‑solving skills.
- Experience with milking parlours, bulk tanks or dairy cooling systems would be advantageous.
- Electrical qualifications such as 18th Edition and refrigeration certifications such as F‑Gas would be beneficial.
- Knowledge of modern dairy automation and control systems desirable.
- Strong customer service and communication skills with the ability to build relationships with farming customers.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel throughout Cumbria and participate in on‑call requirements.
