The Job:
We are recruiting for an experienced Compliance Officer to join a growing arboriculture and landscaping business in the Coventry area. This is a varied, hands on role covering compliance, health & safety, equipment, training and operational support across depots and sites.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage compliance systems, inspections and records
- Carry out depot and site audits and follow up on actions
- Monitor LOLER, PUWER, vehicle and equipment inspections
- Coordinate servicing, equipment and PPE requirements
- Support accident, incident and near-miss investigations
- Manage inductions, training records and skills matrices
- Deliver practical safety briefings and toolbox talks
- Support recruitment, onboarding and employee development
- Work with managers to improve labour planning and operational efficiency
- Identify and implement improvements to systems and processes

The Candidate
- Previous experience in compliance, health & safety or an operational environment
- Experience with audits, inspections and compliance systems
- Organised with strong attention to detail and record-keeping skills
- Practical, approachable and solutions-focused
- Confident communicating with operational teams and senior management
- Able to identify issues and follow them through to resolution
- Experience with LOLER, PUWER, fleet, plant or equipment would be advantageous
- Arboriculture, landscaping, construction, utilities or similar industry experience would be beneficial
- IOSH, NEBOSH or relevant compliance qualifications would be advantageous
The Package
- Salary £36,000–£41,000 per annum DOE
- Company vehicle
- 29 days' holiday including bank holidays

Candidate Requirements
All applicants must hold a minimum of an NVQ Level 2, Scottish NVQ Level 2, or an equivalent qualification relevant to the role applied for. Candidates must also have the legal right to work in the UK or hold a valid visa permitting employment.
