The Job

Our client is looking to recruit a Yard & Warehouse Operative to join their team in Cambridge. This is a varied, hands‑on role within a busy agricultural and rural supplies business, supporting the efficient movement, storage and dispatch of stock while maintaining excellent standards of safety and customer service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receiving and checking incoming deliveries
  • Loading and unloading vehicles safely and accurately
  • Picking and preparing customer orders for collection and delivery
  • Moving and storing stock within the yard and warehouse
  • Preparing goods for dispatch
  • Maintaining a clean, organised and safe working environment
  • Supporting customers and colleagues as required
  • Following all company health and safety procedures
  • Assisting with occasional local deliveries when needed

Ideal Candidate

  • Experience in a warehouse, yard, agricultural, merchanting or similar environment.
  • A practical and proactive approach to work
  • Good communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Forklift experience would be advantageous, although training can be provided
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Good level of physical fitness due to the manual nature of the role
