An established aquaculture business is seeking an Assistant Farm Manager to support the day-to-day operations of its trout farming facilities in County Wicklow. This is a hands-on, outdoor role suited to someone ready to take on greater responsibility within farm operations. You will assist with fish husbandry, production management, equipment maintenance, and operational improvements while helping to supervise a small team.

Responsibilities:

  • Carrying out daily husbandry and care of fish across all life stages
  • Maintaining high standards of fish health, welfare, and environmental management
  • Supporting quality control procedures across farm operations
  • Assisting with industry compliance and audit preparation
  • Maintaining accurate stock records, performance data, and operational documentation
  • Operating and maintaining fish farming machinery and equipment
  • Conducting general site maintenance and supporting operational improvements
  • Working collaboratively with and helping manage a small farm team
  • Participating in rotational weekend and out-of-hours cover

  • Full B driving licence (trailer licence desirable)

  • Good communication skills and spoken/written English for operational safety
  • Reliable, proactive, and able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
