As an AD Plant Operator, you will be responsible for the day-to-day running and monitoring of an anaerobic digestion plant, ensuring efficient performance and consistent output. Working closely with the Plant Supervisor and Manager, you’ll play a key role in maintaining plant health, feeding operations and supporting maintenance activities. This is a hands-on role requiring attention to detail, reliability and a proactive approach to problem solving.
Key responsibilities include:
- Operating the AD plant in line with management instructions
- Monitoring plant performance and reporting data to the line manager
- Carrying out accurate feeding of the plant to maintain optimal output
- Supporting routine maintenance and assisting with fault finding
- Participating in an on-call rota to ensure continuous operation
- Monitoring plant health to ensure consistent production of gas, heat, or by-products
- Maintaining high standards of housekeeping and site organisation
- Working collaboratively with the wider team to achieve operational targets
- Ensuring all work is carried out safely and in line with H&S regulations
- Supporting pest control and maintaining site compliance
The Candidate:
- Have experience in a hands-on role (e.g. farming, plant operations, engineering or similar)
- Be mechanically minded with basic maintenance skills
- Have good attention to detail and the ability to monitor and report data accurately
- Be comfortable working both independently and as part of a team
- Be reliable and willing to take part in an on-call rota
