As a Senior Growing Assistant, you’ll work closely alongside an experienced Grower Manager, playing a key role in the day‑to‑day and strategic running of a large‑scale soft fruit operation. There’s a strong emphasis on irrigation and climate control, ensuring crops are grown to consistently meet high supermarket standards for Class 1 fruit. This is a hands‑on position where you’ll be actively involved across both glasshouse and tunnel environments.

You’ll support all aspects of the growing cycle from crop monitoring and feeding programmes to pest and disease management while also contributing to trials, innovation, and continuous improvement initiatives. Alongside the technical growing responsibilities, there’s a commercial focus too. You’ll help monitor inputs, analyse crop performance, and work towards improving yield, quality, and overall efficiency. The role also offers leadership exposure, giving you the opportunity to supervise and support team members, helping to build your management capability as you progress.
