Based from either the Stirling or Nairn area, this position reports directly to the Head of Ecology and plays a key role in leading ecological projects, advising internal and external stakeholders, and ensuring high environmental standards across a varied portfolio of land management and development projects. Key Responsibilities
- Representing and promoting high environmental standards
- Delivering ecological services aligned to client and business objectives
- Undertaking and managing ecological surveys (habitats and protected species)
- Analysing survey data and preparing technical reports and assessments
- Managing ecological and protected species licence applications
- Carrying out Ecological Clerk of Works (ECoW) duties
- Managing project budgets, timelines and resources
- Advising on environmental legislation and regulatory compliance
- Supporting forestry and land management operations on ecological matters
- Supervising and mentoring colleagues on ecological best practice
The Candidate
- Relevant qualification in ecology, environmental science, land use or related discipline
- Membership of (or working towards) CIEEM or equivalent professional body
- Proven experience delivering and coordinating ecological surveys (habitats, protected species, birds, reptiles)
