An established independent property and land consultancy is looking to recruit a Rural Surveyor to strengthen its growing rural practice in Cambridgeshire. This role offers the opportunity to work with a broad client base including farming businesses, private estates, investors and rural landowners across a wide range of professional disciplines. This position would suit an experienced surveyor seeking greater responsibility, autonomy and exposure to a varied mix of agency, professional and strategic rural consultancy work.
Key Responsibilities
- Rural property valuations for a variety of purposes
- Agricultural and rural property sales, acquisitions and lettings
- Landlord and tenant matters, including agricultural tenancy agreements
- Contract farming and other farming business arrangements
- Utility, infrastructure and renewable energy projects
- Compensation and compulsory purchase work
- Strategic advice to landowners on asset management and business opportunities
- Working alongside planning, development and environmental specialists on multi-disciplinary projects
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships through proactive advice and service delivery
- Supporting wider business growth through networking and industry engagement
Candidate Profile
- A professional qualification within Rural Surveying, Rural Land Management or a related discipline
- MRICS, FAAV or CAAV status, or progression towards a relevant professional qualification
- At least five years’ experience within a rural surveying environment
- Sound technical knowledge across rural professional practice and agency
- Confidence dealing directly with landowners, farming clients and professional advisers
- Strong commercial awareness and problem-solving ability
- Excellent report writing, negotiation and communication skills
- The ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively
- Full UK driving licence
- All applicants must hold a minimum of an NVQ Level 2, Scottish NVQ Level 2 or an equivalent qualification relevant to the role applied for.
- Candidates must also have the legal right to work in the UK or hold a valid visa permitting employment.
