Our client is seeking a capable Relief Poultry Farm Manager to provide short-term and ad-hoc cover across a poultry site in South Norfolk. This role is critical to maintaining continuity of standards, bird welfare, and performance during periods of absence, holidays, or peak operational demand. You will be expected to step in with minimal handover, take control of day-to-day operations, and keep the farm operating to full company and assurance standards. This is a hands-on role suited to someone confident managing stock, systems, and people independently.
The Company operates high standard poultry units with a strong focus on welfare, compliance and operational consistency. Experienced relief support is essential to ensure standards never drop, regardless of staffing cover.
Responsibilities:- Step in with minimal handover and take control of day-to-day operations to maintain standards, welfare, and performance.
- Manage stock, systems, and people on a hands-on poultry site.
- Ensure operations comply with company and assurance standards.
- Proven experience managing broiler or poultry units in a hands-on role.
- Strong technical understanding of bird welfare, stock management and environmental controls.
- Confident use of ventilation, heating, feed, water, lighting and alarm systems.
- Excellent biosecurity discipline and familiarity with assurance schemes.
- Ability to step into a site quickly and operate with minimal supervision.
- Calm, decisive approach to problem solving and day-to-day farm pressures.
- Flexibility to work weekends and unsociable hours when required.
- Competitive relief rate (daily or weekly, depending on arrangement).
