An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Poultry Farm Manager to take responsibility for a specialist duck operation in Lincolnshire. Working closely with senior management, you will oversee day-to-day farm activities, lead and develop a site-based team and ensure the highest standards of animal welfare, biosecurity, health & safety and operational performance. This is a hands-on management role within a progressive agricultural business, offering the opportunity to play a key part in livestock performance, data collection and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all day to day farm operations and staff activities
- Lead, motivate and develop the site team through effective training and communication
- Ensure the highest standards of duck welfare, biosecurity, and health & safety compliance
- Oversee livestock performance monitoring, data collection, and reporting activities
- Coordinate flock movements, stock allocation, and site throughput planning
- Manage farm preparation, cleaning programmes, and turnaround between production cycles
- Maintain accurate operational records and ensure compliance with company procedures
- Liaise with veterinary, production, and management teams to ensure smooth site operations
- Monitor equipment maintenance schedules and ensure operational readiness
- Drive continuous improvements in efficiency, quality, and site performance
The Candidate
- Previous experience managing a poultry, duck or livestock farming operation
- Strong people management and leadership skills
- A good understanding of animal welfare, biosecurity and health & safety requirements
- Excellent organisational and planning abilities
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with multiple departments
- A proactive and hands-on approach with a focus on continuous improvement
- Experience in livestock performance monitoring, record keeping, or production reporting would be advantageous
