Pig Livestock Operative – £29,000 – Leicester
The Job:
We’re recruiting 2 enthusiastic and reliable Pig Livestock Operatives to join a progressive, high-welfare pig breeding unit based near Leicester. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys hands on, practical work and takes pride in maintaining excellent standards of animal care, hygiene and farm presentation. Working as part of a dedicated team, you’ll be involved in all aspects of pig husbandry and daily farm routines — helping to ensure the smooth running and success of this modern, efficient operation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out daily animal care routines including feeding, watering and welfare checks
- Take responsibility for cleaning, power washing, and maintaining hygiene standards across all farm areas
- Assist with farrowing, vaccinations, grading, and batching piglets
- Handle livestock safely and calmly, following welfare and biosecurity procedures
- Maintain accurate records of stock, feed, and health checks
- Support general farm duties and uphold excellent housekeeping standards
- Follow all Health & Safety, environmental, and technical policies
