An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Farm Manager to oversee the day‑to‑day operations of a busy petting farm environment. This on‑site role requires strong animal husbandry skills, excellent organisational ability and a genuine passion for delivering a high‑quality visitor experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the daily operation of the petting farm and its facilities
  • Oversee the health, welfare, feeding and care of all livestock
  • Maintain high standards of animal husbandry and biosecurity
  • Supervise, train, and support farm staff and volunteers
  • Coordinate daily animal handling and visitor interaction activities
  • Maintain paddocks, enclosures, fencing and general infrastructure
  • Ensure compliance with health & safety, animal welfare and licensing requirements
  • Manage stock levels for feed, bedding and farm supplies
  • Support budgeting, record keeping and operational planning
  • Assist with farm events, educational visits and seasonal activities

The Candidate

  • Previous experience as a Farm Manager, Assistant Farm Manager or senior livestock role
  • Strong knowledge of livestock care and animal welfare, with hands‑on experience across sheep, goats, pigs, poultry and small livestock
  • Good leadership, staff management and organisational skills
  • Strong communication skills with a confident, public‑facing approach
  • Ability to work weekends, bank holidays and peak visitor periods
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Relevant agricultural/livestock qualifications preferred
