Land Management Officer – North Yorkshire – £42,000 DOE + Accommodation + Benefits Package

The Job:
Are you passionate about protecting rural landscapes and enjoy a balance of outdoor practical work and office-based coordination?

Responsibilities:
– Carry out site visits and inspections to assess land condition, access routes, and habitat quality
– Deliver practical land maintenance tasks—including fencing, vegetation control, access improvements, and basic habitat management
– Oversee and coordinate contractors and seasonal workers on stewardship-related tasks
– Manage land management plans, records, and GIS data, ensuring compliance with environmental and legal frameworks
– Act as liaison between stakeholders—landowners, local authorities, and conservation bodies—to resolve issues and promote sustainable land use
– Prepare reports, contribute to funding applications, and ensure Health & Safety and environmental regulations are adhered to

The Company:
We’re working on behalf of a leading organisation in land and environmental stewardship to recruit a Land Management Officer for a key role based in North Yorkshire. This is a hands-on, field-based role with responsibility for maintaining, enhancing, and reporting on a portfolio of land stewardship sites, alongside essential planning and compliance work.

The Candidate:
– Practical land management experience—you’re confident working outdoors in all weathers and on varied terrain
– Strong organisational and administrative skills—able to manage schedules, records, and reports with precision
– Good understanding of Countryside Stewardship Schemes or agri-environmental programmes (preferred)
– Experience working with contractors, landowners, or local authorities in a land, estates, or conservation context
– Familiarity with GIS systems, mapping tools, or environmental recordkeeping (beneficial)
– Relevant qualifications in land management, countryside management, environmental conservation, forestry, or environmental science

The Package:
– Salary £35,000 – £42,000 (depending on experience)
