The predicted salary is between 25000 - 35000 £ per year.

This is a full time, hands on role supporting the upkeep and presentation of high quality sports facilities and outdoor spaces across a school estate. You’ll help ensure playing surfaces and grounds are safe, well maintained and ready for use throughout the year. Working as part of the estates team, you’ll be involved in a wide range of grounds maintenance tasks including preparing sports pitches, maintaining grassed and landscaped areas, and supporting the day to day running of outdoor facilities. The role is practical, varied and largely outdoors.

A well established independent school with extensive sports grounds, landscaped areas and outdoor facilities. The estates team plays a key role in maintaining a safe, well kept environment for pupils, staff and visitors.

The Candidate:

  • Experience in grounds maintenance, landscaping, or a similar outdoor maintenance role
  • Comfortable using grounds machinery such as mowers, tractors, and associated equipment
  • Good understanding of sports pitch maintenance (football, rugby, cricket, hockey or similar)
  • Strong awareness of health and safety practices in a working environment
  • Practical, hands‑on approach with good attention to detail
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Willing to carry out a range of physical outdoor tasks in all weather conditions
  • Basic maintenance skills and ability to report equipment issues
  • Reliable, proactive, and willing to take responsibility for site standards

Hours: 08:00 – 17:00, Monday to Friday (occasional weekend work required). School holidays: 08:00 – 15:00
