An established forestry consultancy is seeking an experienced Forestry Consultant to join their team in Perthshire. The role offers a mix of advisory, management, and operational responsibilities across a diverse portfolio of private and public woodland clients. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated forestry professional who wants to work on sustainable forest management projects, timber sales, and woodland creation schemes in one of Scotland’s prime forestry regions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and implement forest management plans for diverse woodland sites
  • Supervise timber harvesting operations and ensure regulatory compliance
  • Conduct woodland surveys, valuations, and mapping
  • Provide advice on grants, environmental regulations, and woodland creation
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships and stakeholder engagement
  • Support restocking, habitat management, and carbon-related projects

The Candidate:

  • Degree in Forestry, Environmental Science, or related discipline
  • 2–5 years’ experience in consultancy or practical forestry
  • Understanding of UK forestry legislation, felling permissions, and sustainable forestry practices
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • GIS experience (ArcGIS or QGIS) is desirable
  • Professional forestry membership or working toward IFM/Chartered Forester status is advantageous
  • Full UK driving licence
