The Job:
Are you an experienced forestry professional seeking an exciting new challenge? We are looking for a Senior Forest Manager to join a dynamic forestry team in the South East, based in Hampshire. This role offers the opportunity to manage diverse forestry properties, with responsibilities including planning, operations, client relations, and business development.
The Company:
A leading provider of timber harvesting and marketing services across the UK, working with a diverse client base. They harvest over 2.1 million cubic metres of timber annually, covering activities from first thinning to clear felling, marketing standing trees, roadside purchases, and using various transport systems to supply customers from small mills to major processors in the UK and Europe. They pride themselves on an independent and innovative approach, ensuring seamless processes from harvesting to haulage, maximising woodland owner returns.
The Candidate:
- Proven experience in forest management, especially in a lowland context
- A relevant academic qualification (Forestry, Land Management, or related discipline)
- Experience in client and stakeholder engagement
- Strong commercial acumen and knowledge of UK forestry regulations
- Understanding of UKFS, UKWAS, and silvicultural practices
- IT proficiency, including Office 365 and GIS mapping
- A full UK driving licence
- Professional membership of the Institute of Chartered Foresters (or similar) is desirable
