Farm Manager Farm Manager - North London - £41,000-£44,000 + Benefits The Job:
An opportunity for an experienced Farm Manager to take responsibility for the day to day running of the farm, a diverse organic mixed farming operation.
You'll play a key role in developing the Farm's livestock, market garden, commercial and educational activities, while leading a small team and helping deliver a sustainable and successful farming enterprise.
The business operates 7 days a week, so the role includes rota based weekend, evening and bank holiday work, with occasional on call duties.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee livestock health, welfare, breeding and seasonal activities
- Manage organic crop production, harvesting and supply to the farm shop and veg scheme
- Lead and support staff, volunteers and students
- Operate and oversee tractors, machinery and farm equipment
- Manage farm budgets, resources and suppliers
- Maintain high standards of animal welfare, health & safety and organic compliance
- Support practical agricultural training, educational activities and community projects
- Develop sustainable and commercially successful farming opportunities
The Candidate
- Level 3 Agriculture qualification or equivalent practical experience
- Strong livestock and general farm-management experience
- Experience in organic, regenerative or sustainable farming
- Experience operating tractors and agricultural machinery
- Previous experience leading or supervising a team
- Good knowledge of animal welfare, health & safety and farm compliance
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- A full UK driving licence
- flexible approach and willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions
