An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Farm Manager to oversee mixed farming operations on a large-scale, forward-thinking estate in Kent. Reporting to the Estate and Conservation Manager, you will take a leading role in livestock management, regenerative agriculture, and day-to-day estate operations.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Managing sheep and cattle in line with organic and pasture-fed principles
  • Maintaining animal health and movement records
  • Leading herd expansion plans
  • Overseeing grazing systems, crop planning and soil health initiatives
  • Ensuring all practices align with regenerative and sustainability goals
  • General estate duties such as fencing, hedgerow management, cultivation and water systems maintenance
  • Operating farm machinery
  • Collaborating with conservation partners on environmental projects
  • Supervising junior team members, providing clear leadership and direction

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 3 years’ practical farming experience, with a strong background in livestock management (sheep and cattle). You will have a solid understanding of organic systems, pasture-based grazing and regenerative agriculture principles. You will be a confident leader with excellent communication skills, capable of managing and motivating a small team. A strong operational mindset, attention to detail and the ability to work both strategically and hands-on are essential. Relevant machinery operation licenses are required, along with a firm commitment to health and safety. Desirable skills include knowledge of ecology and biodiversity, chainsaw certification, livestock transport licensing and experience in procurement.
